Notification when employees clock in and out
Send a text or email notification every time an employee clocks in or out so that I know who's on the clock and when.
The developers are looking into this, but the more feedback the better!
I received text notification from an older system about 5 yrs ago.."John Doe clocked in at 7:56 at ABC job" ..it was very simple and super helpful, text option would be very helpful as I am away from my computer most of the day

I particularly want accountability to management of who is forgetting to clock in and out.
I love this idea. It would really help me with employee management. I particularly like the idea of choosing my notification type... email, text, etc. Although if email was the only choice that would be helpful.
On Clock-In: Would like the employee's name, what time they clocked in and what project.
On Clock-Out: Would like the employee's name, what time they clocked out of the project and total hours worked so far today.
Love the idea. We use "PushOver App" and it supports all kinds of notifications including API's or EMail's and works very well.
A simple way for managers to see who is working, what Jobs they are on and and when they log in or out would be very helpful on the mobile app. Of course notifications of the same.
I'm going to merge this idea, so here is the awesome feedback and detail left by Tane:
if im tracking someone i would love to be notified when it clock in. we have around some apps that can be mediators so the service maybe doesnt have to be native, what it need is an API call to trigger things like clock in, clock out and maybe taso and notes, but at least the clock in could be enough to trigger. what i mean is, services like Pushover.net and Zapier.com could work as a bridge for notifications or even Growl or even Boxcar.io.
Think of any smartphone notification system.
would be very unobtrusive, easy to dismiss, but would still allow us to keep the pulse of the workflow!
Thanks for the details! If not an email, what would be a less invasive notification? Or would you prefer the option to select your type of notification?
This could easily be brought to any notification system: Android, Iphone, and the popup notifications for gmail that Chrome uses.
"John clocked out of JOB8654 at 12:35pm. He was on JOB8654 for 3:35 today."
I would not like emails, but would prefer a less invasive notification.
This would be extremely helpful to me as I am not always in front of my computer. At times I may not be aware that our employee arrived late until I arrive in front of the office computer later in the day. If I could receive an email when an employee check-ins and it contain their GPS Location and/or Notes then again an email when they check out (same information) that would suffice. Thank you and I really hope we can get this going! :-)
